Lovely varieties of violets from the Republic of Moldova: Angel's Day, Ljubljana, Lady Rose, Winter Sun, Valencia, Roses in Crystal, Sand Castle

Unsurpassed violets with remarkably large corollas in all possible shades of the color palette:

  • Presents the results of the breeding work of the Kursk violet breeder Natalya Skornyakova;
  • And they stand out among other domestic varieties by the presence of the abbreviation “RM” in the name.

In the article you will read in more detail about the varieties of violets of the Republic of Moldova: Angel Day, Ljubljana, Lady Rose, Winter Sun, Valencia, Roses in Crystal, Castle on the Sand.

Violet RM-Angel Day

Beautiful violet Angel's Day.

A marvelous variety of white varieties has represented the standards since 2015. Next you will learn how the violet blooms RM-Angel Day photo and description.

Demonstration of decorative features

From the very first day, violets of optimal size carefully and completely independently arrange their leaf plates into the even contours of rosettes, adhering to the principle of tiled laying accepted in architecture.

As a result, mature bushes of a compact configuration appear with clear boundaries of the calculated symmetry of the leaf pattern.

The significantly elongated violet leaves with a noticeably pointed tip are distinguished by:

  • Quilted surface with a highly fleecy texture;
  • Clear graphics of pressed veins;
  • Coarsely carved teeth along an extremely wavy edge;
  • And the dark emerald color of summer foliage.

The structure of the leaves is quite strong , and the overall dimensions could be a little smaller.

The violet is valued due to the regal texture of its white flowers with a yellowish glow emanating from the center: corollas of huge diameter and the number of their petals:

  • Corresponds to the terry type;
  • And due to the highly corrugated frill, they form lush, airy pom-poms.

ATTENTION! The charm of the violet is given by the pinkish reflections that appear from time to time and the thin greenish border along the contour of the petals.

The variety has white large flowers.

Sports

Violet is characterized by sporting activity; sports differ from varietal specimens in the even pink tone of the flowers.

This variety has sport.

Specifics of room keeping

Violet blooms profusely and for a long time - unlike many white-flowered varieties, Saintpaulia corollas can remain fresh for quite a long time . The size of the flowers and their number surprise you from the first wave of budding. Lush caps stand upright due to strong, but short peduncles.

ATTENTION! Varietal violet does well without intense lighting, and too much light can provoke the plant to bend its leaves down in an attempt to hug the flowerpot.

Saintpaulia blooms magnificently.

Reviews

Sergey Arkadyevich. “I purchased the Angel’s Day violet because I have a collection of white Saintpaulias. No luck - she bloomed pink sport. It’s also gorgeous, but I gave it to my sister.”

Violet Candy (B.Makuni)

Magnificent violet Sweetie.

Authorship

A retro variety of charming Saintpaulia with the sweet name “Sweetie” is a true representative of the breeding direction of the most famous domestic master of working with varieties of violets, Boris Mikhailovich Makuni.

The variety was obtained in the mid-70s of the last century and became the ancestor of the master’s “Pink” series. You can see a photo of the violet Sweetie (Makuni) below.

The violet was invented by Boris Makuni.

Taxonomy

Scientific classification classifies the variety “Sweetie” according to the principles of taxonomic hierarchy to the extremely diverse genus Saintpaulia (family Gesnerieceae); According to the overall dimensions of adult specimens, the type of violet is “standard”; according to the structure of the buds, it is a group of double Saintpaulias.

This variety belongs to the terry species.

Photo and description of decorative outlines

A characteristic feature of the variety can be considered the ability of violets to independently grow rosettes that are very neat in configuration , consisting of several dense tiers of leaves laid symmetrically around the circumference.

The rosette is characterized by a standard size , although in adulthood the bushes slightly exceed the maximum digital values of the classification according to its size.

The leaves have a rounded silhouette with a slight elongation at the end and differ in :

  • Finely pimpled surface texture;
  • Light shine;
  • Light graphic – extruded pattern of veins;
  • And angular notches of teeth along the edge.
    The leaves of this violet are shiny.

The structure of the sheet has a slight shuttle-like appearance due to the folding of the edges upward. The color of the upper side of the leaf blades has a rich tonality of summer greenery. Below, the leaves are painted in a lighter color with a whitish tint, and closer to the central vein they can acquire shades of reddish-brown.

Saintpaulia is characterized by almost non-stop flowering with lush caps. According to the description of the variety, from the first bloom the flowers are capable of filling the corollas with wavy petals to a terry degree. An even greater volume of the flower is obtained due to the thick fringe along the contour of each petal.

Remarkable! A violet with buds beginning to bloom creates the complete illusion of young coral branches emerging from the water. But in the full opening phase, the corolla of Saintpaulia is like two peas in a pod like a pink carnation flower - only the characteristic violet leaves prevent the flowers from being confused.

The flowers of the described Saintpaulia are pink.

The “Sweetie” violet is very recognizable by the color of its corollas :

  • The main space of the flower is painted in pink shades of varying color intensities;
  • The fringe resembles a thin ribbon of tints of light green and white;
  • And the border between the petal itself and its edging is marked with bright pink braid.

Sports

Violet belongs to the group of retro varieties, distinguished by the persistence of their characteristic characteristics - Saintpaulia did not show any sports.

Violet RM-Ljubljana

A bright variety of standard form was introduced in 2012.

Mysterious variety Ljubljana.

Description of decorative features

The violet independently, without the help of a grower, collects the resulting leaf plates into dense textures on neat “floors”. Gradually a beautiful rosette with a characteristic symmetrical configuration .

Medium-sized leaves have:

  • Oval – elongated shape with a smoothly tapering tip;
  • A smooth surface with a shiny texture and a mass of silver fibers;
  • Round, medium-sized cloves;
  • Decorating the wavy edge;
  • And a fine venation graphic with an enlarged central vein in a light green color.

The color of the leaves is similar to the dark shades of summer foliage. The underside of the leaf blades acquires a burgundy coating with age.

The whisks are different:

  • The likeness of large terry “stars”, painted with smooth tints of different tones of pink color with coral notes;
  • They have a corrugated texture of the petals with a richly fringed edge frame.

IMPORTANT! The intensity of the color increases from the middle to the edge, where a narrow white ribbon can run.

Violet flowers are star-shaped.

Sports

Violet is not noticed in sporting activities.

Non-standard contents in the room

Saintpaulia:

  • Not picky about care;
  • Easily adapts to the indoor microclimate;
  • Independent in terms of bush formation;
  • Has a spectacular decorative appearance when flowering;
  • Forms voluminous caps;
  • And it is capable of maintaining a presentable and fresh appearance of the corollas for a long time.

Varietal violet is rarely found in flower growers’ collections, although it is perfect for indoor cultivation, as it has a bouquet of such positive qualities as:

  • Symmetrical outlines and compact forms of the bush;
  • Good growth and development without obvious problems with minimal care;
  • An abundance of buds, folding into voluminous caps.
    This variety grows and develops well.

ADVICE! The variety is also ideal for cultivation by beginning violet growers.

Reviews

Alena Mikhailovna. “I noticed that all the violets selected by N. Skornyakova are distinguished by their simple content and excellent decorativeness, not only in flowers, but also in rosettes that form themselves. The Ljubljana variety is just that. This is my “favorite”. Thanks to the master!”

Violet RM-Lady Rose

Feminine violet Lady Rose.

The most delicate Saintpaulia of the standard type has been appearing at exhibitions since 2014. For the RM-Lady Rose violet, you can read the photo and description below.

Presentation of special touches

The violet independently begins to arrange the leaf plates that replenish the rosette according to the planned number of floors - tiers, necessary for its decorative appeal, while maintaining a neat order.

The gradually formed bush of a compact configuration, as in architectural practice, displays a magnificent pattern of mosaic alternation of leaves, where each section can receive an optimal charge of solar energy .

Wide - oval medium-sized violet leaves have:

  • Dense structure;
  • Coarsely cut teeth along a slightly wavy contour;
  • Configuration in the form of a small boat or a sail curved towards the center;
  • Smooth surface with pimples;
  • And dark tonal coloring.

Gorgeous violet caps consist of large, double flowers filled with petals . The coloring of the corollas is based on warm shades of the pink palette, which smoothly flow into a delicate light green color on the edges ending in a thick corrugated edging.

The petals themselves are different:

  • Dense texture;
  • And thin translucent veins running across the entire surface from top to bottom.
    Saintpaulia has dense petals.

Sports

The violet occasionally sports, forming flowers of a pinkish-beige color with an extremely thick corrugation of an intense light green-emerald hue along the contour.

Occasionally, sports are found in this variety.

Difficulty of cultivation in collections

The variety is quite easy to care for and has only favorable features:

  • It creates a tight socket itself;
  • Loves to bloom luxuriantly and often;
  • The size of the flower caps is constantly increasing.

CAREFULLY! Violet requires a large amount of intense lighting, so specimens of the variety should not be deprived of additional light from diffuse spectrum lamps - they are responsible for the size of the flowers and the brightness of the color, and also help maintain the stable density of the edging ruffle.

The Saintpaulia in question blooms profusely.

Reviews

Inga Vasilievna. I’ve been growing the Lady Rose violet for five years now, and I consider it ideal – complete harmony of dark foliage, delicate corollas and unpretentious character. The main thing is to monitor the lighting.”

Violet RM-Winter Sun

The exquisite snow-white variety of the standard subspecies has been known to flower growers since 2016.

Playful violet Winter sun.

Outlining the silhouette of the variety

The violet conscientiously collects young leaves into a rosette that is ideal in configuration and filling of tiers . Compact bushes with a neat structure do not like to violate the boundaries of the typological dimensions of their subspecies.

The slightly heart-shaped leaves are distinguished by:

  • Smooth surface with shiny texture;
  • Extremely fine serration of the edges, which disappears in most leaves, forming an even outline;
  • Light, symmetrical venation pattern and rich coloration of summer foliage.

Due to the even texture of the leaf plates, violet rosettes have a flat structure.

The corollas of the variety are pure, snow-white in color, emphasized by the yellowish tint of the central eye:

  • They belong by type to the subspecies of “stars”;
  • They have volumetric outlines of large diameters with a semi-double or terry texture of the structure.

Each petal is richly decorated with wavy flounces , which gives greater splendor and airiness to the flowers.

The edges of the flowers have a wavy shape.

Sports

Saintpaulia has not yet been noted in the formation of sports specimens.

Nuances of content in the collection

Violet has trouble-free behavior in home collections:

  • It has an unpretentious nature, but for long-term preservation of the healthy decorative appearance of white flowers, it is advisable to observe the conditions of a cool microclimate;
  • Flowering begins at the usual time for violets, proceeds luxuriantly and with short periods to recuperate.

The list of positive qualities of varietal violets includes:

  • Ideal socket;
  • Long flowering with voluminous and lush caps;
  • Strong flower stalks.

    The presented violet has a good rosette.

Reviews

Alexandra Artemyevna. I have always been of the opinion that white-flowered specimens are short-lived, that their corollas turn yellow and shrink very early. But they accidentally gave me a violet “Winter Sun” - it turned out to be N. Skornyakova’s magical variety. During its development at home, not a single problem arose; the specimen bloomed with huge flowers, formed many buds and bloomed for an infinitely long time. I fell in love with this violet and now I advise everyone to buy it.”

Violet RM-Valencia

A touching white-flowered standard with pinkish watercolor stains began to be found in collections since 2015.

Violet Valencia appeared in 2015.

Showing Specific Traits

The violet is a violet grower's dream come true: densely layered mosaic patterns of leaves form themselves, eventually forming a perfect, flat rosette of a compact configuration with neat symmetry of the edge.

A varietal bush, as in architectural projects, develops a magnificent graphic picture of a mosaic alternation of elements - leaves, thanks to which each section of the violet rosette can receive its share of solar energy.

Oval - elongated leaves with a pointed tip are distinguished by:

  • Strongly wavy configuration of the side edges;
  • A clearly extruded venation pattern in a light salad tone;
  • Quilted surface; Large, slightly disheveled-looking edge teeth and the tonality of lush summer foliage.

The violet bush blooms with a cap of huge single or semi-double flowers, painted white . In the core of the corolla and along the contour of each petal there are pinkish stains of dense color intensity. The rest of the flower area is filled with pink swells in a chaotic manner.

ATTENTION! The edges of each petal are decorated with an elegant wavy fringe, on which a thin border of green lace is visible.

Saintpaulia has bed shades of flowers.

Sports

Violet is characterized by the stability of varietal categories; it does not form sports.

Unique development in the room

Saintpaulia belongs to the varietal varieties with classically simple care and absolutely unpretentious character in terms of maintenance. It creates an almost ideal rosette on its own, grows vigorously and without problems, blooms often, with minimal rest intervals.

Violet has many more positive qualities, among which we can note:

  • Compactness and dense structure of the bush;
  • Abundance of buds;
  • Gorgeous decorative flowering;
  • Long lifespan of flowers.

    This violet blooms profusely and magnificently.

Reviews

Galina Ivanovna. The “Valencia” variety is from the category of romantic Saintpaulias: the flowering of lush white and pink foam with light green reflections definitely lifts the mood.”

Description of life phases

Violet “Sweetie” has stood the test of more than one generation of flower growers and invariably enjoys their love.

The presented variety loves proper care.

All life processes of the “sweet” Saintpaulia follow the classic canons for the genus, so it does not require specific conditions, it is different:

  • Easy care;
  • And a non-capricious character.

This makes the variety ideal for beginning violet growers.

Unique development in the room

Saintpaulia is part of a large group of varieties characterized by simple maintenance methods and suitable for any collection:

  • As for experienced flower growers with their thematic and specific areas of collecting;
  • The same goes for beginners just getting acquainted with growing violets.

Violet has a lot of positive characteristics :

  • Independent formation of a socket;
  • Easy care principles;
  • Long flowering periods with almost no rest;
  • Gorgeous decorative silhouette and chic floral cap;
  • Memorable color and configuration of flowers;
  • Not picky character.

Attention! The variety is a big worker - between flowering the bush rests for no more than two weeks and immediately begins to lay a new batch of buds. The formation of lettuce edges on the corollas is not interfered with by any microclimate disturbances, even summer heat.

Under optimal microclimate conditions, the “sweet” violet likes to grow leaves abundantly , forming bushes of luxurious volume.

Growth to adulthood

According to botanical laws, an adult plant is considered to be a specimen that has already begun to form the first flower buds.

For many varieties of violets, the timing of the period of a young plant varies due to the nuances of the phases of life.

Saintpaulia “Sweetie” develops along a standard path, so the time it matures depends only on the method of obtaining the seedling:

  • It will take about eight months to mature when using leaf babies;
  • The method of separating the finished baby from the mother violet will require a slightly shorter period of time.

Specifics of reproduction methods

To obtain young specimens of violets, you should resort to two proven methods:

  • Choose a suitable leaf cutting, wait for the children to form on it and then plant them in their flowerpots;
  • Separate and root the stepsons of the violet itself in their own pot.

Propagation by seeds is not relevant for violets - being hybrids , they do not retain the characteristics of the variety.

Advice! It is possible to preserve the varietal characteristics in full when rejuvenating the violet by carefully cutting off the upper part of the bush and rooting it in a new flowerpot and fresh substrate.

Effect of temperature on flowers

Saintpaulia blooms calmly not only under comfortable temperature conditions of the standard microclimate for the genus, but also at readings slightly below the optimal limit - although then the flowers will not be able to gain sufficient strength to form their varietal maximum.

If, during the formation of buds, the violet finds itself in conditions of extreme heat, then an important process for the plant may :

  • Slow down;
  • Shift deadlines;
  • Or it may not be realized at all at this stage.

The varietal feature of “Candy” is the absence of temperature influence on the appearance of the salad color of the fringe on the petals - this characteristic feature will be present even when the buds open in the hottest weather.

Structure of peduncles

From the first flowering, violets exhibit another positive property - the formation of peduncles of optimal height and sufficient strength to withstand the weight of a large number of large flowers in an upright position and not fall on the leaves of the rosette.

Flowering style model

Following the recommendations of experienced flower growers regarding the removal of the first single buds even before they bloom allows the violet to gain sufficient strength and, during subsequent flowering, produce spectacular flower caps from very large, original corollas.

Flower lifespan

This violet blooms magnificently and abundantly.

The difference between “sweet” Saintpaulia is the almost continuous presence of a head of flowers on the bush , which always attracts the attention of gardeners when choosing a variety to purchase for the collection. Such flowering becomes possible due to the long period of preservation of the decorative appearance of each corolla - up to a month or more.

Violet RM-Roses in Crystal

The bright standard Saintpaulia is a relative novelty - registered in 2022.

Wonderful violet Rose in Crystal.

Designation of decorative features

A feature of the variety is that the young rosette has small gaps between the leaf plates - the result of the elongation of the petioles of the first leaves. Adult bushes themselves correct this defect and gradually form a rosette of almost ideal shape.

Violet leaves are different:

  • Large dimensions, bright, emerald-colored veining pattern;
  • Juicy green shades of summer foliage;
  • Quilted surface with glossy texture;
  • And large, wavy teeth.

The lateral edges of the leaves certainly have a wavy texture.

The flowers are characterized by a large diameter , their shape partly represents the type of “stars” that do not fully open, with terry filling of wavy petals.

The edges of each petal bear a very ruffled fringe, highlighted with greenish colors. The tonality of the corolla itself is represented by a white color scheme with blue flashes.

A characteristic feature that gives special grace to the violet is the inability of some flowers to open fully . They freeze in their development at a certain stage, turning into something like small heads of cabbage.

NOTABLE! It is this feature that makes the violet look like the dense buds of peony roses, and it is also responsible for the name of the variety.

The violet in question looks like a rose.

Sports

The plant has not yet been noticed in the formation of sporting young bushes.

The originality of growth in the room

Violet is not at all picky, but you should pay special attention . The variety develops quickly, blooms in multi-colored clusters.

You need to carefully monitor the microclimate - the variety requires cool conditions :

  • With a lower temperature gradient, flowers will be able to form unopened “heads” - and this is very impressive;
  • In cool conditions, the color of the green ruffle appears much brighter.

    At low temperatures, the edges of the flowers become brighter.

Sophia. « Violet “Roses in Crystal” is a favorite of my collection. I absolutely love white and green roses, and for the same reason I adore this variety of Saintpaulia.”

Useful video

Watch the video of how the Rose violet grows in Crystal:

New items in my collection are blooming: RM-Eliza, RM-Royal Lace and many others.

Good day, dear like-minded people! As promised, I’ll tell you about the new items in my collection that have been blooming and blooming lately.

I’ll start with Allegro Pink Pistachio (J.Stromberg), I grew it from a leaf, and I had to save the variety by rooting tiny leaves with the only surviving child, but now there are a huge number of them, all the leaves have taken root and produced offspring, and the growing rosettes have acquired a bunch of stepsons , so now you have to look for lovers of such exotic things:

The young lady bloomed about a year after planting the leaves, at first the rosette was not very even, some of the leaves broke when the stepsons were removed:

But the baby recovered quickly enough and began to grow a bouquet. The variety is considered semi-miniature, but it didn’t like it at all in 7, so we had to change it to 8, it turned out to be our favorite size.

The flowers are very unusual, at least no more than 1.5 cm, but they are so long lasting and there are so many flower stalks that over time the rosette will turn into a continuous cap of flowers:

Bob Serbin (J.Brownlie) is an old variety, but it is blooming for the first time, I also grew it from a leaf, the mother plant had a wider white border, and its owner warned me that it is advisable to raise all the children before flowering, since rosettes with simple pale flowers. The leaf was very prolific, I removed about 15 children from it in six months, but due to lack of space, I risked leaving one, and it did not disappoint me:

In color and shape of flowers, my plant is reminiscent of Emerjency, but much more compact and with more interesting flowers, the rosette itself is perfectly round and flat:

The flowers are all of different shapes on slender peduncles:

The flowers last for a very long time, without fading or losing their shape; at the moment, the rosette has been blooming for the fourth month, so the variety definitely remains in the collection.

Dancin' Trail (S.Sorano) semi-miniature trailer, I received it the year before last from Tatyana Lysikova, I've been playing with it for almost 2 years, but until now I haven't even risked showing it, here's the first relatively successful photo:

And this is how it bloomed for the first time, a month and a half after arriving from Moscow:

After a couple of weeks, the rosette looked like this:

In general, I didn’t have much luck with this variety, the first leaf I bought at the exhibition died safely, later, when planting leaves from my own plant, I realized that for this variety this behavior is a pattern: 9 out of 10 planted leaves most often for some reason disappears. But this is not a big problem, since the plants themselves are so young that you just have time to plant:

I rooted the stepson from my first rosette and planted it in the same pot as the first one, when they bloomed, it turned out to be such a funny cascade:

The variety blooms almost continuously, but the flowers are short-lived and already 5-6 days after opening they turn into black spines. Perhaps Tatiana Shevchenko was right in her article about trailers that they “don’t eat, they eat!” last time 3 bushes in one pot. Considering that the stems of this variety stretch out very quickly, I simply don’t know how to help these poor fellows:

DS-Shining Bell (Dimetris) made me very happy! The first rosette blossomed according to its variety, followed by the second:

I also bought this variety as a leaf in early April, and on New Year’s Eve the first bell opened:

I have a fairly even taste for fancy varieties; somehow they all look the same to me, with rare exceptions; moreover, their offspring from the leaf is absolutely unpredictable. But the Bell is special, it has everything I love: a white eye in the center, a rich blue color and a white border, as well as individuality. The rosette is ideally shaped and not huge, there are many flower stalks and they bloom together:

The flowers are large, I heard that they fall off, but in 3 weeks not a single flower has fallen or withered from my rosette

The second rosette arrived next and was also of the same variety, but its flowers began to unfold into a “plate” already on the third day, and in the first one even the old flowers retain the shape of a bell.

I heard that the variety is very athletic, but the sports that I saw at exhibitions are no worse than varietal plants, and the variety simply fascinated me:

Optimara Nebraska (Holtkamp). I bought this variety as a baby, which had been sulking for a long time, did not want to grow, was sick, so I had to replant it several times, but after a year of “suffering” it still bloomed. It is difficult to say how varietal the flowering is, the border is too wide, and some flowers completely lack a crimson center. But even if it’s a sport, it’s a very nice one:

The flowers are all different, the rosette is ideally shaped and compact, like most optimaras:

The first flower opened on New Year's Eve, and since then the cap has been growing:

And soon it threatens to turn into a continuous foam of delicate ruffles and crimson eyes, so I hasten to show you while it’s still possible to examine and evaluate something:

JuS-Adelina (Jura-Pikalenko). I have also been playing with this variety for three years now.

According to the variety, it is supposed to have crown golden variegation, but this is where I have difficulties. Variegation appears at the baby stage, and then disappears completely, no matter where I place the growing rosettes. This is probably one of those varieties that cannot survive without good daylight. In addition, my first 2 rosettes bloomed much more modestly and paler than the plant from which I bought the leaf. This rosette bloomed on the shelf:

The second lived on the windowsill:

I placed the third rosette under the LED tube, and although the variegation on it also disappeared completely, a lot of flower stalks came out, and the flowers turned out to be much brighter than those of the previous bushes:

I decided to give the variety another chance, planting a leaf from under the peduncle for myself, and the rosette went into good hands.

EK-Sugar Rose (Korshunova). I also had to tinker with this variety, the sent leaf was huge and did not want to give birth to children for a long time, after which the only long-awaited child also almost died, fortunately, she managed to root the leaf, and now she has raised her young lady from it. The variety is far from new, I haven’t come across it at exhibitions, but the photos on the Internet are finger-licking good, so I tried to grow it:

The first flowering was devoured by the heat and thrips, and I only managed to do one photo shoot. In addition, the variety turned out to be not the most photogenic and did not want to be photographed adequately on my “soap box”:

The second time the rosette bloomed in late autumn. The flowers, as the first time, turned out to be quite small, no more than 4 cm. The only consolation is that the rosette turned out to be compact, so if there is a shortage of space, it is quite possible to keep this variety:

The flowers are not pure white, they slightly glow with purple light, and the edges of the half-open flowers are light green:

But this time Sugar Rose bloomed at the same time as my beloved Swan Lake, so it’s not a problem for me which is better to leave in the collection.

LE-Carousel (Lebetskaya). I’ve also had this variety for about 2 years, but I still couldn’t take a normal photo, and I wanted to watch it.

Since it looks very ambiguous at exhibitions, I raised several children at once, and for good reason: the rosette standing on the window was the first to bloom, it turned out to be a sport, immediately after it the varietal rosette on the shelf bloomed:

The third socket is also on the rack, only on the middle shelf, and also by type:

All the plants began to bloom 8 months after planting the leaves. In summer, the flowers turned out to be much larger, but lighter:

It’s difficult to call the variety photogenic, since the flowers are fallout and last no longer than 5-6 days

In addition, the leaves are so fragile that at the slightest awkward movement they bounce off like a lizard’s tail, and then twist the rosette to get a normal photo!

Of the 4 rosettes that I brought to flowering, only one turned out to be sporty, but the sport is quite interesting, with hemp:

But I don’t want to give up the variety, despite all its shortcomings. It’s very cheerful and blooms almost continuously.

LE-Elf Garden (Lebetskaya). This is already a new product, I bought it as a child in May last year, it bloomed in November and until today pleased with its lush bouquet:

Since its flower stalks are rather long, they began to bend almost immediately due to overexposure. The flowers are large, up to 6 cm, heavy. The socket, as far as my cramped conditions allow, is almost ideal at first:

The leaves have long petioles, so they break quickly on cramped shelves.

There is a socket under the LED tube; she clearly doesn’t like the overexposure, but she doesn’t have to choose.

In general, the shape of the flowers and leaves is very similar to one of the parents, but Ruffled Skies behaved absolutely disgustingly in my conditions, I had to part with it, but its offspring is much more accommodating, and the flowers are much larger and last longer, not to mention, which grows and blooms much faster.

Closer view of flowers:

At the end of flowering, the rosette gathered its strength and finally installed flower stalks in a bouquet. Now it is on vacation, the leaves have broken off, but new flower stalks have already appeared, so I’m waiting for the next flowering.

Olesya (Seedling Morev). I also raised this girl from sight and also got the result only on the second try:

The first and only baby appeared immediately with a peduncle and turned out to be sick, I barely had time to plant a leaf from it, fortunately, it took root and produced offspring without problems

My beauty bloomed 7 months after planting the cuttings, the flowers are simply magnificent!

I don’t understand why the plant was not given the status of a variety, as far as I have seen this variety, the rosettes bloom almost identically among different collectors, the flowers themselves are recognizable and original, there are similar varieties, but they are significantly inferior to this miracle. The rosette is perfectly even, the peduncles are slender:

The bouquet grows gradually, but the flowers do not lose their freshness for a very long time, so the bouquet turns out more and more beautiful every day:

It’s almost the peak of flowering, and new flower stalks continue to emerge:

RM-Royal Lace (Skornyakov). I also bought this beauty as a child in April last year, I took it blindly, but the flowering exceeded all expectations and all the praise of familiar collectors:

The baby was small, no older than 3-4 months, and bloomed in early November. The flowers immediately bloomed large, growing to 7-8 cm in a week

Half-opened flowers with light greenery around the edge, which disappears over time. To demonstrate the size, I placed a rosette next to the giant Evening Splandor (flowers 7-8 cm)

The buds began to bloom together, the flower stalks only slightly bent under the weight of the huge flowers:

Closer view of flowers:

The flowers do not lose their freshness for a very long time, only at the end of 4 weeks after opening the first signs of aging appear, but even after that the flowers do not fade, in total, remaining in place for up to 6 weeks each!

Considering that the buds were planted in the kitchen on the top shelf under a bright lamp, then I moved the socket to a shelf in the room under an LED tube, and the light was on for 13-14 hours all the last months, then the variety is simply heroic. This is how it looked on the rack a month after flowering began:

Now the rosette is gaining strength for the next flowering, I’m waiting...

RM-Eliza (Skornyakova). I am also growing this beauty from a leaf purchased last spring. The variety turned out to be prolific, I kept 2 children for myself, which bloomed 8 months later almost simultaneously:

From one of the rosettes, just in case, I planted a young leaf, which very quickly acquired a baby, and immediately with a peduncle.

All three plants bloomed almost simultaneously, but their flowers differ in shape and size, only the color is common:

The flowers on all three rosettes lasted about a month, and the longest was on the baby with the mother leaf, which did not at all prevent the baby from growing up safely and acquiring another bud. Today I put her away from her mother in a potty:

I wanted to tell you about a few more varieties, but the photos absolutely don’t want to load today, so I’ll have to put it off until next time, thanks for your attention.

Violet RM-Castle on the Sand

A standard fantasy variety with elegant shades of pink palette was presented to flower growers in 2018.

Exquisite violet Castle on the Sand.

Image of decorative touches

Violet manifests itself as a full-fledged representative of the Saintpaulia group, distinguished by significant independence from flower growers : it independently composes a rosette, transforming it, using the architectural rules of tiled alternation of elements, into a charming bush with neat symmetry of configuration and dense filling.

With this design of the outlet, all its parts are guaranteed to receive their share of solar energy.

Large violet leaves have:

  • Oval shape with fine teeth, smooth cutting;
  • Smooth surface;
  • Beautiful venation pattern;
  • Easy - wavy contour of the side edge;
  • And lush green shades of spring foliage.

Flowers by type belong to the “star” category of semi-double or double fullness and very significant dimensions. The wavy edges of the petals are decorated with large fringed braid.

IMPORTANT! The color scheme pleasantly surprises with the changes in shades as each corolla matures: at the moment the bud opens, it has pastel pink shades, but gradually the tonality of the color is saturated with color, eventually acquiring a bright palette of pink and red shades with coral reflections. The surface of the flower is abundantly splashed with fancy specks of a blue tone. There may be a white edge along the edge of the petals.

Saintpaulia has double flowers.

The uniqueness of development in home collections

Violet:

  • Doesn’t get capricious during care procedures;
  • Shows independence when installing a socket;
  • Feels comfortable in a room microclimate.

Possessing a spectacular flowering texture and forming lush volumes of caps, the variety is able to delight flower growers for a long time with the presentable decorativeness of the corollas.

With a lower temperature gradient, the white stripe on the petals can become a wide braid.

Violets may develop a white stripe along the edges of the flowers as temperatures change.

Anton. The name of the violet “Castle on the Sand” is not entirely clear to me, but the variety itself evokes stormy applause for its unusual textured color.”

Evgenia Petrovna. I’ve been collecting a collection of retro varieties for a long time - I have both foreign and domestic varieties. But the largest section was made from the varieties of B. M. Makuni - all his violets are very good, it’s difficult to refuse some new find. This happened with “Sweetie”: my friend was cleaning and updating her shelves and wanted to throw out the old violet. I took her, rejuvenated her and received a wonderful “Candy” that I didn’t have yet. This is a wonderful specimen: it blooms non-stop, the flowers are large and of an original color, its care is minimal. A true classic. The master knew how to create masterpieces.”

The Saintpaulia in question attracts gardeners with its lush blooms.

Zoya Ilyinichna. My collection began a long time ago with the violet “Sweetie” by the master of our domestic selection B. M. Makuni. Since then, the variety has been my talisman, I take care of it and rejuvenate it. It’s good that the violet is not capricious. It is easy to care for, and there is a whole sea of emotions when it blooms. The flowers sometimes look like pink corals with pearl splashes, sometimes like a bouquet of luxurious varietal carnations. I recommend this violet to everyone, especially beginners.”
