Chrysanthemum flowers: the meaning of bouquets and symbolism of colors

Perhaps chrysanthemum is one of the most beloved flowers in Russia. Interestingly, the culture of growing chrysanthemums dates back more than 3,000 years and originates in ancient China. Translated from Greek, “Chrysanthemum” means “Golden Flower,” which, according to botanists, most accurately describes the ancient species of this plant - small and golden yellow.

The variety of modern chrysanthemums can turn your head. Each color is a separate message, carrying its own special meaning. To teach you this beautiful floral dialect, we will look at the meaning of each shade and also tell you what occasions it is best suited for.

The meaning of chrysanthemums in different countries

In the West

While chrysanthemums symbolize a sea of positive emotions, learning is another (perhaps not so pleasant) meaning of the flower in the West. This makes chrysanthemums an excellent gift to congratulate a new school year, remarkable academic achievements, or the start of a new project. In addition, chrysanthemums are the official flower of Mother's Day in Australia.

However, in some parts of Europe the flower symbolizes death, and is used exclusively at funerals. Therefore, be careful when sending such a bouquet to Europe as a romantic or holiday gift.

In the East

Chrysanthemums were first grown in China, and, of course, Eastern culture endowed them with deep symbolism. Flowers are believed to signify long life and prosperity, as well as rebirth, making them a popular gift for birthdays or the birth of a baby. In addition, in Japan, the chrysanthemum is an imperial flower that symbolizes the highest power and is the official emblem of the country.

Patron flower chrysanthemum

From the point of view of magic, chrysanthemums can give youth, cheerfulness, peace, happiness, longevity, beauty, health, resilience, wealth, power, blessing of the Gods, and new opportunities. She can grant success in a variety of endeavors.

If you have this miracle flower growing on your windowsill or in your dacha, then you can easily prepare a “Blessing of the Sun” pokutnik (amulet).

It will become a little sun in your home and will energetically feed you during the dark season, bringing good luck and protection.

Making an amulet

To make it, you need to collect yellow chrysanthemums, and there should be no fading flowers. Only those that have blossomed and are blooming are suitable. And this needs to be done on a sunny day, before sunset. It is better to make such an amulet and consecrate it on the waxing Moon on Sunday. Before picking flowers, turn first to Mother Raw Earth for a blessing, and then to the soul of the flowers themselves, explaining why you are picking them. Afterwards, pick the flowers, bow, and leave a small supply (bread, seeds, berries for the birds) near their bush. Dry the flowers.

Sew a round bag with a diameter of about 10 cm from yellow material. On the bottom or side of the bag, embroider a circle with a dot in the middle (Sun sign) with red thread. Prepare a yellow cord of such length that you can then easily put on and take off the amulet from your neck if you wear it on yourself. If you want the blessing of the Sun for your home, then take a short cord for a loop to hang the pendant on the wall.

Place yellow chrysanthemum petals in the bag, insert the cord and sew it up. For consecration, take three yellow candles, a handful of earth or salt, a cup of clean living or silent water and a bell, as well as fresh chrysanthemum flowers (only the “heads” of flowers). Sit facing east. Place things in the following order: to the north - bell; to the east - candles in an equilateral triangle with the apex away from you (to the east), the base towards you; to the south - a handful of earth or salt; to the west - water. Light the candles clockwise.

Appeal to the elements

Turn to all the elements and the Gods that symbolize them, starting from the north.

After this, place some of the flowers and the pokutnik to the candles and say: “Sun Dazhbozhich, great Firebozhich, in Yaril, Kupala, Khorsa, Kolyada and Ra is one, I turn to you, I appeal to your strength: drive out the unclean from my house, sanctify the house with the most pure light ! (speech 3 times)

Take the future amulet in your hands and say: “Gods of the Sun, I, the grandson of Dazhbozh (name), ask: bless the creation, enter into it with your strength!” Feel how it happens.

Say: “Sun Gods, saints, bless me, fill this creation with your power. Let him carry the message, protect me from evil, guide me to the light, and be with me in joy! Let it be so!".

Feel how your holiday is filled with strength. When this happens, say: “Thank you, Sun Gods, Powers of the Great Shining All-Penetrating Light of Ra, accept my gifts (put the second part of the prepared flowers and a piece of bread spread with honey on the candles). Holy be required, holy be illuminated, holy be illuminated from Earth to Heaven, may the earth remain, holy be illuminated! Goy!
