Sundew is an interesting and unpretentious carnivorous plant. It got its name because of the sticky droplets that dot the leaves. Insects that decide to drink the dew stick to these drops.
If the sundew has caught the victim, the leaf slowly curls. And when the insect is digested, it opens again. This is how the plant receives nutrients that are not in the soil.
Most often, Alicia and Cape sundews are grown at home. Other types are incredibly difficult to find in stores.
