Find out more about the EK violet “Black Pearl” from the video below:

Violet Black Pearl is a houseplant that is distinguished by the beauty of its flowering, which can last throughout the year. By following the given recommendations and growing rules, the violet will never get sick or be affected by parasites.

Saintpaulia is a genus of beautifully flowering herbaceous plants of the Gesneriaceae family. One of the most common indoor plants. In floriculture it is also known as Uzambara violet. It grows naturally in the mountainous regions of East Africa.

Temperature The optimal daytime temperature for adult violets, if you want them to bloom, is 20 - 24°C. At a temperature of 20 degrees, adult plants bloom for a very long time, the flowers are large and stay on the peduncles for a long time. For young plants just beginning to develop, recently separated from the mother leaf, the optimal temperature is higher - 23 - 24 ° C. But violets are quite resistant plants and can withstand both a decrease in temperature in winter to 10 or even 5 ° C (in this case they only slow down their growth, but it is necessary to remember about a corresponding reduction in watering), and an increase to 35 ° C C (they stop flowering during the summer heat, so you should avoid raising the temperature to more than 30°C for more than 4 - 5 days).

Black violets

Calm, curious all the tones,

Wonderful is the night that is not completely black.

These black flowers are beautiful.

Breeders from all countries have been struggling for decades to create black flowers - roses, orchids, tulips. and of course the breeders did not ignore Saintpaulia. Black violet is for many breeders the pinnacle of their work. But unfortunately, pure black Saintpaulia cannot exist in nature. In living nature there is no pure black color, there is no enzyme responsible for this color. Black is the perception by the eye of dark shades, most often very rich brown, less often red or blue, dark purple, dark burgundy...

A large concentration of dark color in flowers leads to their rapid fading in the sun, that is, such flowers burn very quickly in the sun and literally burn out. This is not beneficial in nature, because the flower must have time to fulfill its function - pollination, but it will not have time to do anything. That's why there are no such flowers in nature. Another reason is that this color is not attractive to pollinating insects; they are simply not interested in such a flower. You can only make one or another shade saturated, bring it to a high concentration in the flower. But it will not be black, but very dark. red, blue, brown. And such a flower will not be very durable.

There is another way - to artificially color the plant. Yes, the color will be black, but this is a color and without a systematic infusion of dye it will dry out sooner or later.

All the research of breeders ends with only one thing - they bring the color intensity to the permissible maximum and our eye sees the color black, although in fact it is not so. Despite all of the above, “black” violets continue to fascinate, captivate and surprise.

Features of cultivation

To ensure optimal conditions for the development of violets, you should provide it with proper lighting, protect it from drafts, and do not forget about irrigation and the introduction of nutrients. Saintpaulia will be able to bloom for nine and a half months a year, including winter. In summer, flowering is likely to be interrupted, since excessively high temperatures interfere with it. The soil mixture for “Whipped Cream” can be easily purchased at the store or you can make it yourself. Saintpaulia will like the combination of turf, coniferous soil, sand and leaf soil, taken in equal parts. Before use, the mixture will have to be disinfected: either kept in the freezer for a whole day, or heated in an oven heated to 200 degrees for an hour.

The soil for violets should be saturated with useful substances, loose and permeable to both air and moisture. You should not enrich it with rotted manure, as this will activate the growth of green mass instead of promoting flowering. To choose the most successful pot, you need to measure the diameter of the outlet - the capacity should be 3 times larger than the indicator. There must be drainage holes to ensure drainage of liquid after irrigation.

Lighting should be in moderation, since the violet will suffer both in the case of direct exposure to sunlight and when located in a darkened space. In the cold season, the flower feels great on the windowsills of windows facing south, but in the summer it will have to be moved to windows facing north. To create the diffused lighting that Saintpaulia likes, you can place fabric or white paper between the glass and the plant itself. The violet will need 10 to 12 hours of daylight, but during the flowering period it is a good idea to provide additional lighting. It is recommended to move the flower pot 90 degrees twice a week. This action will make it possible to achieve uniformity in the development of the leaf rosette.

In the summer, the optimal temperature is between 24 and 26 degrees, and in winter, “Whipped Cream” can be grown at 18 degrees. Air humidity should be at least 50%, but it is strictly not recommended to spray it to increase it, as this threatens the appearance of ugly brown spots.

When planting a plant in a pot, you must first create a drainage layer, the thickness of which is 2 centimeters. Next, a small amount of soil is poured on top, and the seedlings themselves are placed. The soil mixture is laid out in a circle on top, and everything is carefully slammed down.

Reviews

In a word - nonsense, highly artistic nonsense. Although this is not true, for such an arthouse movie, its plot, surprisingly, even came out very thoughtful and there was no understatement in it. It all just looked like wandering in the dark, from one suddenly surging idea to another. In the end, what emerged from this was no story. In aesthetic terms, I think the film was shot very well, gray picture, sophisticated characters, vampire theme. I don’t give it a minus, it’s just a movie for connoisseurs, not for everyone!

They forgot to invite India - and dance, dance, dance. and the songs, of course

Fuck it. One poster is worth it. In one hand there is an artificial penis and in the other there is a plunger.

forced to work as an escort to support the family business, WTF. What kind of family business is this?))))))

The film is unexpectedly good. Added to the collection)

Country: USA, Hungary, Singapore, UAE. Even though I’m tense, I won’t watch.

well, yes, well, yes, it confused me too

Not watchable amateur art house. ABOUT NOTHING. A little lesbian, a little vampire.

do not scare . especially Lesbians (((excites and is not calm from this, damn it (((

A typical low-budget arthouse that won't even be shown at festivals. First of all, it is fantasy, then drama, thriller, detective, and horror trails behind everything. Newcomer István Váradi shot the film in black and white, with a slight blue tint, only at a basic level of knowledge. The actors did not play convincingly, but it is clear that they tried. The sounds were simply psychedelic. The plot is simply about nothing, the writers squeezed everything they could out of their brains: the black vampire Kennedy wants to live as a human, meets the Korean Zelda, and they begin a lesbian relationship. But the development of their love was prevented by the lord of the vampires, Pepin, who is 3000 years old, who returned from a long hibernation, reproaching Kennedy that people are no match for them. You won't see anything bloody, just a few bites, but there will be a lot of dialogue and dry scenes. In general, nonsense, not horror, 0.5 out of 10.

Reproduction of such Saintpaulias

To preserve the mother color of the plant, the usual method of propagation by cuttings is not suitable in the case of chimera violets.

The following methods allow you to maintain the desired color:

  1. Reproduction using peduncles. At their base there is a dormant bud, from which, when carefully cut and rooted, a new shoot grows. He will eventually become a new violet.
  2. The upper part of the plant, along with flowers and one row of leaves, is completely cut off and planted in the ground. To avoid excessive evaporation of moisture, before roots appear, it is covered with film or glass containers to create greenhouse conditions.
  3. Rooting by stepchildren. To do this, the topmost shoot is cut off. After some time, lateral layers appear at the site of the break. These cuttings can be plucked and planted in the ground.
